About me
I am a qualified counsellor and an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am a Relate-trained, qualified relationship counsellor, awarded through the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body, and I am qualified with the British Menopause Society in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for menopause symptoms.
I have a particular interest in relationship difficulties, including divorce and separation, affairs, control and abuse, stepfamily relationships and parenting. I also have extensive experience supporting people through life-stage transitions, including adolescence, parenthood, menopause, later life and bereavement.
I have experience working within the educational sector, supporting young adults and university students as they navigate identity, belonging and relationships, manage anxiety and academic pressures, and develop the confidence to move forward into adulthood and build more fulfilling, independent lives.
I believe that the quality of our relationships has a significant impact on our wellbeing — whether that's our relationship with ourselves, our partner, our family or the wider world around us. I therefore work with a relational focus, exploring not only what is happening for you now, but also how your experiences and relationships may have shaped the way you see yourself and relate to others.
I bring warmth, curiosity and honesty to my work. I believe therapy should be a space where you can be open about what's really going on without fear of judgement. I won't tell you what you should do, but I will listen carefully, help you make sense of what you're experiencing and, where appropriate, gently challenge you to consider different perspectives.
I have a particular passion for supporting people to find a greater sense of purpose and fulfilment in their lives. Sometimes we reach a point where the way we've been living no longer feels right, or we find ourselves asking questions about who we are, what we want and where we're heading. Therapy can provide the space to explore these questions and consider what you want your life to look like.
